The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education have established high school curricular and
performance requirements for admission to programs leading to baccalaureate degrees. Students who
graduate from an accredited high school and meet both the curricular and performance criteria are
eligible for admission. All first-time students and transfers students with fewer than 24 credit hours
must also have an ACT score on file in the Registrar's Office.
Students who fall short of the admission requirements may be considered for Alternative Admission.

Performance Requirements
ACT Score - 20, SAT Score - 940 or
High School Rank - Top 50% & High School GPA - 2.7
As A High School Senior You Can:
- Take the ACT or SAT College entrance exam.
- Complete and return the Application for Admission, $15 non-refundable application fee,
Medical History form and current high school transcript to the Registrar's Office.
- An eight-semester transcript must be sent after you graduate.
- Complete and return a Scholarship Application to the scholarship office before May 15th.
- For best consideration, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form
prior to March 15th. These forms will be available from your high school counselor
after January 1st.
- Make plans to visit Northwestern's campus at your convenience by contacting the
Office of Recruitment.
As a High School Junior You Can:
- Register to take the ACT or SAT college entrance exam in the spring of your junior year.
- Gather information from potential colleges by attending a College Day/Night program at
your high school or in your area.
- Collect scholarship and financial aid information.
- Check with your high school counselor to make sure you will have the required classes
needed upon graduation to be admitted to Northwestern.
Transfer Student Admission (24 or more credit hours)
Transfer students with a college grade point average of 2.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale)
will be admissible to Northwestern. High school transcript will not be needed
if the student has completed college course work in the curricular areas required.

Adult Student Admission (21 years and older)
Adult students, at least 21 years of age, qualify for admission under the Adult
Admission criterion. An ACT score will be required in addition to a high school
transcript or GED certificate and scores. Please contact the

Concurrent Student Admission (High School Student)

Policy on Out-of-State Tuition Waiver
|
|
Application: Students must make application for the out-of-state tuition
waiver in the Registry Office. This application must be made each semester. |
|
Qualifications: (1) A student may qualify for the out-of-state tuition
waiver if she/he meets the admission and/or retention standards for the university. |
|
An exception to this policy would be: Students who have been awarded a
Northwestern participation or academic scholarship will be eligible for the out-of-state
tuition waiver for the duration of the scholarship award. |
