FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                              November 28, 2006

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s “Grand Fifties” alumni event scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30, in Enid has been postponed because of the threat of inclement winter weather.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University senior Kevin Kerr and freshman Cory Kerr, both of Conway Springs, Kan., join Ryan Wiebener (middle), Alva sophomore, as they rehearse “Splish, Spash” for the Dec. 11 performance in the “Grand 50s” event at the Enid campus.

The 1950s-themed show has been rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 11, in the commons area of the Northwestern-Enid campus. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner following at 6:30 p.m. The performance will begin at 7 p.m.

The Enid Campus Christmas performance was previously scheduled for Dec. 11, so these two functions will now be offered as a combined event with atmosphere from the holidays and the 1950s, said Dr. Cheryl Evans, Enid campus dean.

The public is welcome to attend at $15 per person or $25 per couple. A limited number of seats are available for the event. Persons interested in attending should make reservations by Dec. 7 to Nancy Jones, secretary to the dean at the Enid campus, at (580) 213-3101.

The Enid campus is playing host to this event not only to reconnect with Northwestern alumni in Enid and the surrounding area, of which there are more than 1,000, but also to raise funds for the purchase of a grand piano.
