Spring blood drive scheduled at Northwestern
Northwestern Oklahoma State University will hold its spring semester Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) Blood Drive Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Enid, and Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 6-7, in Alva.

The Enid drive will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the commons area at 2929 E. Randolph. The Alva drive will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the Ranger Room of the Student Center.

Randy and Carla Mitchel join Vision for Victory campaign
Randy and Carla Mitchel of Alva have pledged a gift of $8,000 to Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Vision for Victory athletics campaign.

The unrestricted gift will be used to help construct the new football locker room complex at Ranger Field, the centerpiece of a four-phase renovation of the football and baseball venues.

“The Mitchels have long supported Northwestern athletics in many forms and their willingness to step up and make this gift is a testament to their commitment to Northwestern and its students,” said Dr. Janet Cunningham, president. Read more...

K&S Tire joins Vision for Victory campaign
The owners of K&S Tire, Scott Riley and Kevin Isenbart, have demonstrated their support for Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Vision for Victory athletics campaign by making a recent gift. Riley and his wife, Christie, represented the company in presenting the funds to Northwestern.

“It amazes me the impact that Northwestern has on Alva, and this project will have a great impact on the community,” said Riley. “It’s going to take everyone’s participation to make Northwestern’s vision a reality.”

Alumni Association to host 'Membership Night'
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association will host a reception for members of the Northwestern Alumni Association and Dr. Janet Cunningham’s President’s Associates on Thursday, Jan. 31, in between the Lady Rangers’ and Rangers’ basketball games against Mid-America Christian University. Alumni Association to host OKC Roundball Roundup
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association will host a reception for all Oklahoma City-metro area alumni and friends when Northwestern visits the Oklahoma City University Stars on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. The reception will be held on the south end, upper level of Abe Lemons Arena in between games. This is a wonderful venue since alumni and friends can enjoy refreshments and visit while continuing to watch the games.  Read more...

Five to vie for Miss Northwestern title

Five women have entered the 2008 Miss Northwestern Pageant to be presented in Herod Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8.

Amanda Schroeder to emcee Miss Northwestern Pageant

Four to be inducted into Sports Hall of Fame Feb. 16            The 2008 class of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Sports Hall of Fame will include Brian Clothier of Edmond; Jeff Ellison of Dallas, Texas; Michael Perkins of Quartz Hill, Calif.; and Willie Tennyson of Milledgeville, Ga.

This year’s class will be honored at a luncheon at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, and at halftime of the Ranger men’s basketball game with Wayland Baptist University that afternoon. The women’s game will tip off at 2 p.m. and the men’s game at 4 p.m.  Read more...

You Should Know
The Second Annual Faculty/Staff vs. Students basketball game will be Thursday, Feb. 21, following the Rangers' doubleheader basketball game. Tip-off for the fun event is approximately 10 p.m. The co-ed teams will play 10-minute halves with a non-stopping clock. Anyone, regardless of skill level or gender, wanting to play should contact Dr. Jim Therrell, Dr. Mark Davis or Marc Wallace. Team t-shirts may be produced if a sponsor can be found.
