September 12, 2008 Impressive new structures welcoming people to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University campus will be dedicated in a ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 18. Gifts from the family of Richard and Johnece Ryerson of Alva, the two new structures made of brick and custom stonework, will welcome visitors to campus at the corner of U.S 281 and Oklahoma Boulevard (U.S. 64) on the northeast corner of campus, and at the north entrance to campus at the intersection of Seventh Street and Oklahoma Boulevard. September 11, 2008 Northwestern Oklahoma State University will officially dedicate its new campus building in Woodward during a ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The ceremony will begin in the commons area at 11 a.m. “The dedication ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate Northwestern’s long-standing partnership with the community of Woodward and the spirit of collaboration that led to the construction of a marvelous facility,” said Dr. Janet Cunningham, university president. This is how the award-winning and Grammy-nominated rock band "Red" has been described, and that band is coming to Northwestern Oklahoma State University's Percefull Fieldhouse in Alva on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
September 10, 2008 Enrollment for the fall semester at Northwestern Oklahoma State University has risen for the second straight year, according to figures released in a preliminary report by the school. In the report to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Northwestern reported total headcount enrollment of 2,097 students, an increase of 2.2 percent from last year’s figure of 2,052. Since 2006, overall headcount enrollment has grown by more than 4 percent. Read more...

September 12, 2008 September 9, 2008 A cappella group Ball in the House to kick off season Sept. 18 Ball in the House, a five-man a capella group from Boston, will perform in Herod Hall Auditorium at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Harmonizing like the groups Boyz II Men, the Temptations and Take 6, Ball in the House brilliantly blends those influences. September 11, 2008 Ten new faculty members began working for Northwestern Oklahoma State University this school year. Of those 10, three work in the School of Arts and Sciences while the other six work in the School of Professional Studies. Read more...
September 4, 2008 Democracy Now, under the umbrella of the State Regents of Higher Education Campus Compact grant program, has formed as a local, non-partisan service learning project organized and coordinated by a class of government students at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. These students welcome members of the university, their families and surrounding community residents to attend a series of election forums to be held in the seven weeks preceding the National Nov. 4 General Election.
